Designed for heavy use, the solid handle allows the knife to be used with gloves and by those with large hands. The reinforced fully demountable torx bolted construction makes cleaning and adjusting the folder easy. Manufactured at the Spyderco factory in the USA (Golden, Colorado).
CPM S110V - a high-alloyed martensitic tool steel with a hardness of 58-61 HRC, manufactured using the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process. The process begins with a homogeneous bath of molten high-alloy steel, which is pumped through a nozzle at high pressure with nitrogen gas to produce a stream of small spherical droplets that quickly solidify into powder particles. The small particle size creates micro ingots, drastically reducing alloy segregation in the steel and providing an extremely fine carbide microstructure when the powder is processed into finished steel. CPM S110V alloy contains a high 2.8% carbon content and a significant admixture of niobium, vanadium carbides and chromium. Thanks to its properties, it holds sharpness for a very long time and provides high corrosion resistance. This unique steel is produced at Crucible® Industries' steel mills.
Blade - laser-cut, modified Clip Point profile with enlarged 14 mm SpyderHole notch (Spyderco patent) increased support hump (ramp / spine jimping), which positions the thumb over the opening allowing you to quickly open the knife even when wearing a glove. Index Finger Choil (a notched profiled undercut for the index finger between the handle and the cutting edge), prevents the folder from slipping in the hand when making powerful cuts. Plain smooth blade combined with a full flat grind (Full Flat Grind) gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Attaching the Liner-Lock blade lock directly into the tang covers, increases its effectiveness without the need for additional liners.
Handle - profiled, covered with non-slip textured facings in dark blue. Made of G-10 plastic (durable, resistant to high and low temperatures, chemicals). The folder is equipped with a torx-screw-fastened single-position clip that allows carrying the knife in tip-down position (tip down). In the back of the tang an enlarged hole (lanyard hole) for pulling a lanyard or safety line.
