Thanks to its precision craftsmanship and the use of robust materials, this knife offers exceptional value for money. Its functionality and reliability will meet the expectations of even the most demanding users.
CPM S35VN - American martensitic high-alloy stainless steel with a hardness of 59-61 HRC, one of the best blade steels. Designed to provide better strength compared to CPM S30V, while keeping corrosion resistance at the highest level. Produced by US Crucible Industries using the particle metallurgy / Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) method. The CPM process creates a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods. The chemical composition has been balanced so that it is composed of 0.5% niobium carbides (Nb) along with 3.0% vanadium (V) and 14.0% chromium (Cr) carbides. Replacing some of the niobium carbides with vanadium carbides makes the steel about 15-20% harder than S30V without sacrificing wear resistance, and it is also easier to machine and polish. The improved strength of CPM S35VN also provides better resistance to edge chipping.
Blade - with the company's Leaf-Shaped profile (leaf shape), finished in an elegant Satin method. Plain (smooth) blade was derived with Full Flat Grind. The enlarged 14mm round SpyderHole cutout (Spyderco patent) makes it easy to open the folder with cold or wet hands. The notched section of the Blade's back, ramp (spine jimping) gives solid support for the thumb which makes it easier to operate the knife. The whole is locked with the proven Liner Lock.
Frame - made of stainless steel, openwork for stress relief, which provides exceptional strength of construction, while forming the basis of Michael Walker's Liner Lock blade locking mechanism with notched liner. The whole was bolted together with torx screws for easy unfolding and folding of the folder.
Handle - non-slip,bi-directional textured covers (Bi-Directional Texturing) strengthen the grip even with wet hands. Made of FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon), a fiberglass-reinforced nylon plastic. The ultra-lightweight design of the Handle grips and the open-backed construction, so called, reduce weight by almost 12 percent compared to a folder with a G-10 handle. A metal clip with four-way (up/down, right/left) 4-way clip positions allows the knife to be carried in a tip-down position. In the back of the lanyard hole, an enlarged hole for a cord.
