PTC (Polyhedral Tungsten Carbide) is a flexible type of tungsten carbide that outperforms steel in terms of edge durability. Thanks to a new technology called StaySharp™, it is possible to produce blades with a hardness of 71HRC, which translates into unbelievably long blade life. Made with StaySharp Technology™ the blades remain flexible and are not brittle. Thanks to the unique properties of carbide, they maintain a clean, sharp cutting edge longer than traditional steel blades. These properties make this material ideal for knife heads. And with an exceptional hardness of 71 HRC, simply put, they are the hardest and most durable blades ever made.
Blade - drop point type with Full Flat Grind. A new feature is the Raw Finish of the blade - its striking appearance was achieved by PTC grinding with fine diamonds. Unlike a steel blade, the Monza's blade is completely rustproof, making it suitable for both fresh and salt water use. The thumb ramp features carefully crafted grooves, while the rest of the back and finger choil have comfortable chamfered edges. Ceramic ball bearings are responsible for the smooth, seamless operation of the blade's opening mechanism, which can be opened with a double-sided thumb stud.
Recoil Lock - an innovative blade lock system, designed by respected knifemaker and designer, Snecx Tan. Two-way lock secures the blade in the open position. Closing the knife is done by moving the backspacer to the rear, which eliminates accidental unlocking the blade.
Handle - zirconium linings, a metal with a much higher density than titanium and much rarer in nature. Slightly rough surface of the facings provides more secure grip, additionally the surface was coated with zirconium dioxide, coating extremely resistant to damage. Two-position, left/right PVD coated titanium clip allows you to carry the knife in tip-up position. The clip features a series of mathematically designed 5 circles cut to reflect the Fibonacci sequence - the hallmark of the Sandrin Knives brand.
