Ray Laconico - his fascination with knives began with the movie "Rambo". Since the early 90s he started collecting fixed blade and folding knives. In the early 2000s he started making knives as a hobby. In the summer of 2006, Ray decided to make knifemaking his full-time occupation. In 2010, Ray took off creating folding knives and since then he has been designing and building EDC knives, which he sells to collectors around the world. Ray's designs are known for their simplicity, functionality and elegance.
Civivi - a sub-brand of WE Knife, a company that produces knives of the highest global quality. Production takes place on the same production lines as WE, so the highest standard of assembly is maintained.
14C28N - a martensitic chromium stainless steel is the latest development in the range of knife steels produced by Sandvik's Swedish mills. An optimized chemical composition with a unique combination provides superior quality, excellent edge performance, high hardness and corrosion resistance. By reducing the amount of carbon 0.62% (C) and increasing the chromium content 14.0% (Cr), as well as adding nitrogen 0.11% (N), corrosion resistance has been significantly improved. Considered an improved version of 13C26 steel. Unbeatable in the price / quality category!
Blade - Drop Point type, finished with a scratch-masking Black Stonewashed method. The wide blade converges towards the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The small thickness of the blade, combined with a high, flat grind (Flat Grind), gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ceramic ball bearings support the opening of the blade in two ways, with a double-sided stud in the blade (Double Thumb Stud) or a quick flipper front flipper. The entire blade is locked with a state-of-the-art Nested Liner Lock.
Nested Liner Lock, a modification of the liner-lock, consisting in nesting the liner of the locking mechanism in the liner.
Handle - made of Burlap Micarta composite (jute fabric pressed under pressure with synthetic resin), beveled edges of the cover eliminates sharp edges. The whole is screwed to a solid backspacer, also made of Micarta. Above the clip a hole for threading a belaying or decorative cord. The pivot axis is decorated with a stylized Civivi brand logo. A two-position (right/left) steel deep carry clip allows you to carry the knife discreetly in your pocket in tip-up position (blade tip up).
Case - comes with a zippered soft nylon case with the manufacturer's logo for safe storage and transportation of the folder.
