TM1B Brown Micarta, Black E.D.C. folding knife by Italian manufactory LionSteel with Solid® Knife technology. Lightweight yet strong and easy to carry. The only folder with Solid technology equipped with a Back-Lock, it was quite a challenge considering the use of micarta for the monolithic, one-piece Handle design.
Design by Molletta, designed by a well-known and respected Italian designer with many years of experience. Michele Pensato (a.k.a. Molletta), is distinguished by a new approach to the use of materials and experimentation in the application of heat treatment and the use of advanced software in knife design.
Sleipner - a versatile high-alloy chrome-molybdenum-vanadium tool steel with high wear and chipping resistance with a balanced alloy composition: chromium content of 7.8% (Cr), 0.9% carbon (C), molybdenum 2.5% (Mo) and vanadium 0.5% (V). It achieves a high hardness of 60-62 HRC. Manufactured at Uddeholm steel plant.
Blade - modified Drop Point profile with clearly marked belly provides excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. The Plain blade is led out with a Flat Grind, which perfectly presents the Mil Spec matte black finish. Thumb Disc on the back of the Blade to open up the knife. Located in the middle of the Handle, the solid Back-Lock Blade lock with double locking spring mechanism provides greater flexibility of the mechanism and increased durability of the locking system.
IKBS - (ball bearing system) allows fast, smooth opening of the blade.
Handle - with Solid® Knife technology, obtained from a monobloc (one piece) of 4D-treated waterproof micarta. This yielded a monolithic skeleton (body) of the highest strength, which is a strong, solid structural element. The grips' facings were CNC-machined, obtaining a non-slip texture. On the underside of the Handle, a protrusion / rider, protecting the hand from slipping on the blade while working. A two-position left/right metal clip allows you to carry the knife in tip-up (tip up) position. Bolted to the frame with a screw / glass beater made of tungsten carbide. In the back of the grips lanyard hole, a hole for a cord.
