Matthew Christensen - Custom Knifemaker from Steger, Illinois. A knife enthusiast since 2007, he founded Christensen Knifeworks in January 2012. Specializing in frame lock and liner lock folding knives, I design and try to come up with great new designs. There is something for everyone, from small EDC-friendly, Fancy Full Dress Builds to large, elaborate knives. His goal as a custom knife maker is to continually improve his knives and the methods he uses to build them. As a result, he creates better products with the best materials available. Knives that customers will brag about, be proud to own, but also that they will use and carry every day.
CPM 20CV - one of the best tool steels, American premium martensitic stainless steel. Manufactured by US Crucible Industries using the particle metallurgy / Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) method. The CPM process creates a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods. Designed to provide better wear resistance while maintaining corrosion resistance at the highest level. This super steel is comparable to Bohler's M390 steel or Carpenter's CTS-204P. According to some knife manufacturers, 20CV is the best of these three steels in terms of edge retention. It consists of 19.0% carbon (C), 20.0% chromium (Cr), 4.0% vanadium (V), 1.0% molybdenum (Mo) and 0.6% tungsten (W). The high percentage of chromium with a touch of molybdenum makes 20CV one of the best high-end corrosion-resistant steels.
Blade - clip point type, finished with a scratch-masking Black Stonewash finish. The generous belly extends the length of the cutting edge in relation to the length of the blade converging towards the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The thickness of the blade provides high strength while the high, flat grind gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ceramic ball bearings support the opening of the blade with a dual thumb stud in the wedge on both sides. The entire blade is locked with the proven and popular frame lock with a steel liner to prevent wiping of the lock face.
Handle - made of titanium 6AL4V anodized in bronze color. Contouring of the covers eliminates sharp edges. The grips are connected to each other with a titanium backspacer. The upper part of the backspacer with widely spaced "teeth". Texture and milling of the surface improve grip security. The simplicity and robustness of the design give assurance of many years of use. Single-position clip (right), made of titanium, allows carrying the knife in tip-up position.
Case - included zippered soft nylon case with the manufacturer's logo for safe storage and transportation of the folder.
