N690 - cobalt-rich 1.65% (Co) corrosion-resistant, high-carbon 1.07% (C), martensitic chromium steel 17.30% (Cr) with molybdenum 1.10% (Mo), vanadium 0.10% (V). Developed to provide better wear resistance compared to the original Böhler N690 steel, but with a higher cobalt (Co) content in its composition. It is characterised by extremely high corrosion resistance and long edge retention. One of the best tool steels in the world today. Hardened to between 58 and 61 HRC. PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) - the resistance of the surface of the wedge and cutting edge is enhanced by a vacuum deposition method used to deposit thin films by condensing an evaporated form of the desired material onto the surface of the workpiece. The coating method involves a purely physical process such as high-temperature vacuum evaporation followed by condensation. The applied coating has a very high hardness which significantly increases the resistance of the blade to rust and abrasive wear.

Blade - Hawkbill type, coated with a scratch-masking black PVD coating. The Plain blade allows efficient cutting with the entire cutting surface as well as with the ultra-thin tip. the high, flat grind (Flat Grind) gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance.
