Elmax - considered "the best all-round knife steel" modern alloy steel with a high content of 17.30% (Cr), carbon 1.70% (C), vanadium 3.00% (V), molybdenum 1.00% (Mo), silicon 0.80% (Si). Hardened in the range of 57-62 HRC. Produced by powder metallurgy method of mixing finely powdered materials, pressing to the desired shape, and then heating to sinter or bind the material. It is characterized by extreme edge holding, high wear and corrosion resistance, and dimensional stability. Manufactured at the Böhler-Uddeholm steel mills in Austria.
Blade - Wharncliffe type finished with a scratch-masking Stonewashed sandblasting method. It is opened by means of an elongated hole in the wedge (Thumb Hole), so it can be easily used by right- and left-handed people, you can also use a front flipper (index front flipper). Ceramic ball bearings are responsible for the smooth operation of the opening mechanism. The small thickness of the blade, combined with a high, flat grind (Flat Grind), gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. The entire blade is locked with the proven and popular frame lock with a steel insert to prevent the lock face from rubbing off.
Handle - on the presentation side the carbon fiber grips, the lock side is solid titanium 6AL4V finished in White Bead Blasted, joined together by a solid titanium backspacer. The simplicity and sturdiness of the design give assurance of many years of use. The pivot axis has been placed inside the titanium insert. The single-position clip (right), made of titanium, allows the knife to be carried in tip-up position. The backspacer has a hole for threading a safety or decorative cord.
