Medford Knife Praetorian Swift FL Flipper Tumbled Tanto, Black Handle, Bronze HW/Clip, S45VN (MKFF2064TT-42TM-T1C1-Q4)
- Praetorian Swift FL Flipper Tumbled Tanto, Black Handle, Bronze HW/Clip, a slimmer version of Medford Knife & Tool's flagship folding knife. It's still a heavily built knife that will stand up to the toughest tasks you put in front of it!
The elite Imperial Praetorian Guard was a unit into which the best of the Roman legionaries were selected to serve as the Emperor's personal protection. The MKT Praetorian Swift FL Flipper Tumbled Tanto, Black Handle, Bronze HW/Clip slimmer version of the flagship, is still just such an elite knife. Its amazing design is limited only by the strength of its materials. With a 3.8mm thick blade, solid 3.2mm aluminum/titanium grips and 6.35mm thick pivots and screws, it stands out from other knives. Beautiful form and function, unrivaled reliability, this is a knife for enthusiasts who do not recognize compromise and demand the highest standards!
Greg Medford's idea was to create the most reliable knives imaginable while retaining their beauty and adding the "soul" of hand finishing.
CPM S45VN - American martensitic high-alloy stainless steel with a hardness of 59-61 HRC, one of the best steels for blades. Designed to provide better strength compared to CPM S30V, while keeping corrosion resistance at the highest level. Manufactured by US Crucible Industries using the particle metallurgy / Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) method. The CPM process creates a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods. The chemical composition has been balanced so that it is composed of 0.5% niobium carbides (Nb) along with 3.0% vanadium carbides (V) and 14.0% chromium carbides (Cr). The improved strength of CPM S45VN also provides better resistance to edge chipping.
Blade Praetorian Swift FL Flipper Tumbled Tanto, Black Handle, Bronze HW/Clip, has been machine-finished using the "tumbled" method, hand-made concave grinds give excellent cutting properties combined with high strength. Impressive embossing increases the strength, using them to open the knife. For smooth operation of the opening mechanism, ball bearings are used, so the knife opens smoothly and noiselessly. The flipper fin, when unfolded, acts as a mini guard to protect our hand. A powerful titanium frame lock bar secures the knife from folding, unfolded and secured the knife is as solid as an armored cash register.
The display side of the Handle is black anodized aluminum, the lock side is titanium. The whole is complemented by a massive clip, also made of titanium, of course. Together with the screws, it has been anodized in bronze color.
Included is a Peli-type waterproof case for storing and carrying the knife.
