N690Co - corrosion-resistant, high-carbon 1.07% (C), martensitic chromium steel 17.30% (Cr) with molybdenum 1.10% (Mo), vanadium 0.10% (V) and cobalt 1.50% (Co) for structural uniformity. Features exceptionally high corrosion resistance and long edge retention. One of the best tool steels in the world today. Achieves a hardness of 57-60 HRC. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - with Sheepsfoot profile, 2.0 mm thick, made of polished N690Co stainless steel, hardened between 58-60 HRC. It should be mentioned here that the use of branded steel so highly hardened is something unusual, as even reputable companies usually use the simplest stainless steels. The Plain blade was derived with a Full Flat Grind, which, combined with the slight thickness of the blade, provides above-average cutting properties. The blade opens with a nail nick on the Blade.
