- Anzu Black G10, Black PVD, the latest design by renowned knifemaker Les Georg for Fox. A sensational option for a compact folding EDC knife, with a Blade made of MagnaCut, currently considered the best knife steel!
Anzu Black G10, Black PVD, the latest model for Fox designed by renowned American knifemaker Les George. The knife's name was inspired by a figure from Mesopotamian religions who challenged the gods by stealing the Table of Destiny from the god Enlil. This act of rebellion made Anzu a symbol of strength, power, precision and determination, all of which can also be found in Fox's knife. The Handle is made of G10 composite, the blade is made of MagnaCut, a modern tool steel that is now considered one of the best on the market. MagnaCut is characterized by excellent corrosion resistance and exceptional durability of the cutting edge. It is an exceptional example of a compact EDC (Every Day Carry) knife, an excellent choice for anyone looking for a reliable everyday tool.
Les George, a well-known knifemaker and former United States Marine Corps soldier, is recognized as one of the leading developers of tactical and utility knives. His military experience, engineering expertise and passion for knifemaking resulted in the creation of the George Knives brand. Les, who served in Iraq, uses his experience to create knives that combine functionality, durability and aesthetics. His creations, including the popular VECP model, have won praise from collectors and users around the world. He is also an instructor and mentor for aspiring knifemakers.
CPM MagnaCut - Powdered stainless steel produced using the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process hardened between 60.5-62.5 HRC. The high content of vanadium 4.0% (V), molybdenum 2.0% (Mo) and niobium 2.0% (Nb) guarantees accuracy and purity unmatched by more "conventional" steels. Designed and developed specifically for blade production by Larrin Thomas, it meets all the requirements of knife enthusiasts. With CPM MagnaCut succeeded in creating a steel that combines the unique properties of knife steels like no other. The result is a blade material that offers a remarkable balance of wear resistance, strength and corrosion resistance. There is no other steel on the world market today that offers a comparable combination of superior properties. This exceptional steel is produced at Crucible® Industries' U.S. mills.
VERSO Lock (Crossbar Lock) - a crossbar that moves horizontally in longitudinal cutouts in the steel side plates of the handle frame. When the knife is opened, the locking bar overlaps the back of the blade from above, preventing its return movement. This beam is pressed down by two springs. Unlocking is done by pulling back the locking bar, the ends of which are accessible through cutouts in the grips on the sides of the Handle grips. In the locked position, the bar presses against the cam surface at the rear of the blade, preventing it from opening on its own. Advantages of the VERSO Lock include resistance to contamination, practical insensitivity to dynamic loads, ease of operation with both right and left hands, and lightweight operation.
PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) - the resistance of the surface of the wedge and cutting edge is enhanced by a vacuum deposition method used to deposit thin films by condensing an evaporated form of the desired material onto the surface of the workpiece. The coating method involves a purely physical process such as high-temperature vacuum evaporation followed by condensation. The applied coating has a very high hardness which significantly increases the resistance of the blade to rust and abrasive wear.
Blade - a Drop Point type blade, coated with black PVD coating. The knife is opened with a double-sided stud in the wedge (dual thumb studs). The small thickness of the wedge, combined with a high, flat grind (Flat Grind), gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. On the back you will find a perfectly made "jimping", notches on which you can put your finger improving the grip and control of the knife during use. The whole thing is locked with an intuitive VERSO Lock.
Handle - is a thick piece of G10 composite, a virtually indestructible material insensitive to weather conditions, resistant to chemicals and mechanical damage, beautifully milled with the help of CNC machine tools. A massive aluminum backspacer gives the entire structure the desired rigidity. The simplicity and solidity of the construction give the assurance of many years of use. The two-position (right/left) stainless steel clip allows the knife to be carried in tip-up position. Above the clip a lanyard hole, a hole for threading a decorative or safety line.
