LionSteel Skinny Black Aluminium/ Black Canvas Micarta, Stonewashed MagnaCut by Molletta knife (SK01A BS)
- Skinny Black Aluminum/Black Canvas Micarta, Stonewash folder from Italian manufactory LionSteel designed by Michele "Mollletta" Pensato with Solid technology and a MagnaCut steel blade. Winner of the Imported Knife of The Year 2024 award at the Blade Show

This product is intended for use only by adults with knowledge and experience in handling sharp cutting tools. Improper use of the knife can result in serious injuries. The blade is extremely sharp and can easily cut through skin and tissue; therefore, extra caution should always be exercised while cutting, and hands should be kept away from the cutting edge. To prevent the knife from slipping, it is recommended to cut on a stable, non-slip surface and avoid excessive force, which may cause uncontrolled blade movement.
Leaving the knife on the edge of a table, countertop, or in easily accessible places—especially where children are present—poses a significant safety risk. The knife should always be properly secured after use, ideally by placing it on a stable surface or storing it in designated knife blocks, protective sheaths, or magnetic strips. The knife should never be used for tasks it is not designed for, such as opening cans or prying objects, as this can damage the tool and lead to dangerous accidents.
A dull blade increases the risk of injury, as it requires more force and is more likely to slip from the material being cut. Therefore, it is essential to sharpen the knife regularly to maintain optimal sharpness. Additionally, proper cleaning and drying of the knife are necessary to prevent corrosion and bacterial growth. Periodic inspection of the handle and blade is recommended to check for cracks, chips, or looseness. If any damage is detected, the knife should be repaired or replaced immediately.
When using the knife, focus solely on the task at hand—avoid talking on the phone, watching television, or other distractions while cutting. Ensure proper lighting in the workspace for better visibility and control. Please note that some countries or regions have laws restricting the ownership and carrying of knives. Before purchasing or using this knife, verify that its use is legal in your location according to applicable regulations.
Following these safety guidelines will help ensure safe and effective knife use, minimizing the risk of accidents and extending the lifespan of the tool.
Skinny Black Aluminum/Black Canvas Micarta, Stonewashed, this folding knife in which innovation meets tradition won recognition at the Blade Show knife fair by winning the Imported Knife of The Year 2024 award. The compact but powerful folding knife, the result of combining Italian craftsmanship with the latest technologies, is the work of Michele "Mollletta" Pensato, a renowned knife designer.
The Handle is made of aluminum with "Solid" technology, which uses a single block of aluminum to create a monolithic knife frame for unparalleled strength and stability. LionSteel, an Italian manufactory known for its attention to detail, used this technology to create a knife that is both lightweight and durable. The blade is made of MagnaCut, a modern tool steel that is now considered one of the best on the market. MagnaCut has excellent corrosion resistance and exceptional cutting edge durability. This folding knife is ideal for everyday carry (EDC). Its compact size makes it easy to fit in your pocket, while still being large enough to handle most tasks. Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast or looking for a reliable tool for everyday tasks, this knife is for you. This is a product that deserves a place in any knife lover's collection. Discover the difference that true Italian craftsmanship and the latest technology can make. See for yourself what makes the "Skinny" so special.
Michele "Molletta" Pensato, an Italian knife designer with a passion for archaeology, has transformed his love of adventure into the high-end craft of knife design. His career began with an archaeological dig, where he realized the need for a durable knife. Known for his innovative approach to materials and experiments with heat treatment, Pensato has won numerous awards. His designs for lionSTEEL, such as the popular T5 and the award-winning SR11, are distinguished by their practicality and typically Italian rounded shapes. Knife design, although just a hobby for him, has resulted in significant contributions to the lionSTEEL collection.
CPM MagnaCut - Powdered stainless steel produced using the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process hardened between 60.5-62.5 HRC. The high content of vanadium 4.0% (V), molybdenum 2.0% (Mo) and niobium 2.0% (Nb) guarantees accuracy and purity unmatched by more "conventional" steels. Designed and developed specifically for blade production by Larrin Thomas, it meets all the requirements of knife enthusiasts. With CPM MagnaCut succeeded in creating a steel that combines the unique properties of knife steels like no other. The result is a blade material that offers a remarkable balance of wear resistance, strength and corrosion resistance. There is no other steel on the world market today that offers a comparable combination of superior properties. This exceptional steel is manufactured at Crucible® Industries' American steel mills.
Blade - Drop Point finished with a scratch-masking bath of fine Stonewashed pebbles. Plain blade brought out with a Flat Grind which gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Frame-Lock reinforced, monolithic aluminum blade lock with a steel inlay to prevent wiping of the lock face. Located on the underside of the blade, the IKBS-assisted protrusion/flipper makes it easy to open the blade. In the open position it serves as a lower guard / hilt protecting the hand from slipping off the handle. In the upper part, the characteristic milling used to open the knife with the Flipper removed.
IKBS - Ball bearing system to improve the opening and closing of the knife. Allows smooth and fast opening of the blade.
ReF - (Removable Flipper System) located on the underside of the blade the IKBS-assisted flipper protrusion / flipper flipper makes it easier to open the blade with one hand. It consists of a small lever (protrusion) that extends beyond the back of the Handle when the Blade is closed. In the open position, the protrusion acts as a stinger, protecting the hand from slipping on the blade. In the folder, it is possible to unscrew the Removable Flipper System lever (unscrew the flipper fin, then insert the second screw included in the box) and open the blade with both hands. This is important in countries where there is a ban on knives with one-handed opening blades in public places.
Handle - made with Solid® Knife technology, obtained from a single block of aluminum, machined by CNC digital machine tools. This yielded a monolithic skeleton (body) of the highest strength, which is a solid structural element. On the presentation side is an inlay (insert) made of Micarta composite. Only a few companies are able to make the Handle with such incredible accuracy! A double-sided (left/right), steel clip allows you to carry the knife in tip-up (tip up) position. Above the clip is a lanyard hole, an oval hole for a cord.
Additional accessories - a U-Tool that allows you to unscrew the bolt holding the clip.
