N690 - corrosion-resistant, high-carbon 1.07% (C), martensitic chromium steel 17.30% (Cr) with molybdenum 1.10% (Mo), vanadium 0.10% (V) and cobalt 1.50% (Co) for structural uniformity. It features exceptionally high corrosion resistance and long edge retention. One of the best tool steels in the world today. Achieves a hardness of 57-60 HRC. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - Drop Point type blade, coated with non-reflective Tan Top Shield® coating. The knife is opened by means of a hole in the wedge (thumb hole). The small thickness of the wedge, combined with a high, flat grind (Flat Grind), gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. The entire blade is locked with a secure and proven Back Lock.
Handle - grips made of FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon), a lightweight material, insensitive to weather conditions, resistant to chemicals and mechanical damage. The simplicity and sturdiness of the construction give assurance of many years of use. The decorativering around the pivot, the so-called pivot collar, is made of orange anodized aluminum. The two-position clip (right/left), made of stainless steel, allows carrying the knife in tip-up position.
