- Eastwood Tiger Burgundy Micarta, Black full-size folder with blade for aggressive use. Designed for those looking for the reliability of a fixed blade and the convenience of a folding knife. Designed by Gudy van Poppel for the Italian brand Fox.
Eastwood Tiger Burgundy Micarta, Black extremely effective, full size (full size)ny E.D.C. folder with Blade designed for aggressive use. Designed for users who seek the reliability of a fixed blade, but don't want to give up the compact size of a folding knife. The result of a collaboration between knifemaker Gudy van Poppel and Italian brand Fox.
Gudy van Poppel began his career as a blacksmith, making blades for several decades. In the mid-1990s, he learned to forge his own Damascus steel. Gudy also manufactures all the parts for his knives himself, including screws and washers. He finishes his designs with natural materials like mammoth or walrus tusks and exotic wood.
CPM S90V - a martensitic stainless high-alloy tool steel with a hardness of 56-59 HRC with 9.0% vanadium (V) and 2.3% carbon (C). The high vanadium content promotes the formation of hard vanadium carbides for strength and exceptional wear resistance, and increases corrosion resistance. This unique steel is designed for the production of high-grade blades and knife wedges. Manufactured by US Crucible Industries using the particle metallurgy/ Crucible Particle Metallurgy(CPM) method. The CPM process creates a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods.
Black Idroglider® Stonewashed - the blade has undergone a Stone Washed finish that masks minor scratches . Subsequently, the durability of the blade's surface and cutting edge was enhanced with a scratch-resistant, matte black non-reflective protective coating made of PTFE. It ensures long life and resistance to rust.
Blade - Clip Point with aggressive shape and clearly marked belly covered with Black Idroglider coating. The massive blade combined with a high, flat grind (Flat Grind) gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ball bearing ceramic bearings support the smooth operation of the blade's opening mechanism, which can be opened with a quick flipper flipper (index-finger flipper). When opened, the flipper forms a mini-guard to prevent your hand from slipping on the blade. The whole thing is locked with the proven and popular Liner Lock.
Handle - made of burgundy Micarta (high-pressure pressed canvas with synthetic resin), beveled edges of the covers eliminate sharp edges, and the fore finger groove made at the front improves grip security. The grips are screwed to an intricately machined aluminum backspacer, they provide assurance of many years of use. Upper jimping, a notched palm rest, was made along the entire length of the backspacer. A single-position (right) steel deep-carry clip allows you to carry the knife discreetly in your pocket in tip-up (blade tip up) position. Hidden lanyard hole in the back, a hole for threading a safety or decorative cord.
Case - included zippered soft case with the manufacturer's logo for safe storage and transportation of the folder.
