CPM REX 121 is a new high-vanadium tool steel with added cobalt, designed to offer a combination of superior wear resistance as well as the highest achievable hardness and impact strength available in high-speed steel. Its excellent impact strength allows for higher cutting speeds compared to other high-speed steels. Its excellent wear resistance (thanks to its high vanadium content) helps maintain a sharp cutting edge with prolonged use.
Blade - with Leaf-Shaped profile , 3 mm thick. Plain blade is derived with Full Flat Grind for increased cutting properties. The flat grind guarantees excellent cutting edge geometry with a sharp tip, reduces the weight of the knife and presents a beautiful satin finish. The enlarged 14mm round SpyderHole cutout (Spyderco patent) allows the knife to be opened even with wet, sweaty hands. Finger Choil, an arched undercut for the index finger, and a notched thumb ramp on the back of the Blade for efficient folder handling. The whole is locked by a simple and proven Liner Lock.
Handle - in burnt orange color, which at Spyderco is assigned to the wedges from CPM REX121. Rough grips made of G10 composite, practically indestructible plastic, insensitive to weather, resistant to chemicals and mechanical damage, which were screwed to steel liners Metal wire clip (steel wire clip) with two-position (right/left) attachment.
