Carpenter® Technology' sMicro-Melt PD#1 is a weather-resistant cold-forming die steel specially formulated to provide both superior wear resistance and strength. The advanced alloy composition is further enhanced by the CarTech® Micro-Melt process, which provides a very fine, extremely uniform grain structure. Functionally equivalent to CPM® CRU-WEAR®.
Blade - with Clip Point profile . Plain blade is led out with Full Flat Grind for excellent geometry and strength, coated with black non-reflective titanium vegloazotide (TiCN) coating. On the Blade's back, a notched ramp (jimping / crosshatching) positions the thumb, gives solid support and makes it easier to operate the folder. The SpyderHole round cutout (Spyderco patent) allows you to open the knife with one hand using your thumb. Blade lock of Back-Lock type with additional Boye Detent cutout, preventing accidental release of the lock when gripping the knife firmly.
Handle - in an elite burgundy color. Non-slipbi-directional textured wraps (Bi-Directional Texturing) and notched notches on the back of the Handle (Spine Jimping) strengthen the grip even with wet hands. Made of FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon), a fiberglass-reinforced nylon plastic. Metal hourglass clip with 4-way (up/down, right/left) 4-way clip positions. In the back of the Handle, a hole (lanyard hole ) for the cord.
