CPM MagnaCut - powder stainless steel produced by the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process hardened to 60.5-62.5 HRC. The high content of vanadium 4.0% (V), molybdenum 2.0% (Mo) and niobium 2.0% (Nb) guarantees accuracy and purity unmatched by more “conventional” steels. Designed and developed specifically for blade production by Larrin Thomas, it meets all the requirements of knife enthusiasts. With CPM, MagnaCut was able to create a steel that combines unique properties like no other knife steel. The result is a blade material that offers a remarkable balance of wear resistance, strength and corrosion resistance. There is no other steel on the world market today that offers a comparable combination of superior properties. This unique steel is produced at Crucible® Industries' American steel mills.
Blade - Wharncliffe type finished with a scratch-masking bath of fine Stonewashed pebbles and then coated in black. It opens with a front flipper (index front flipper), so it can be used by right and left-handed people without any problems. Ceramic ball bearings are responsible for the smooth operation of the opening mechanism. The small thickness of the blade, combined with a high, flat grind (Flat Grind), gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. The entire blade is locked with the proven and popular frame lock with a steel inlay to prevent wiping of the lock face. At the Handle inlay in the form of a dot made of copper, the characteristic mark of Vulpex Knives.
Handle - solid titanium 6AL4V, glazed for a more secure grip. Joined together by a massive backspacer made of Zirconium. The simplicity and solidity of the design give the assurance of many years of use. The pivot axis was placed inside a triangular steel inlay. Single-position clip (right), made of Zirconium, allows to carry the knife in tip-up position.
