CPM S45VN - American martensitic high-alloy stainless steel with a hardness of 59-61 HRC, one of the best steels for blades. Designed to provide better strength compared to CPM S30V, while keeping corrosion resistance at the highest level. Produced by US Crucible Industries using the particle metallurgy / Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) method. The CPM process creates a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods. The chemical composition has been balanced so that it is composed of 0.5% niobium carbides (Nb) along with 3.0% vanadium (V) and 14.0% chromium (Cr) carbides. The improved strength of the CPM S45VN also provides better resistance to edge chipping.
Blade - with a Drop Point profile - has been machine-finished using the "tumbled" method. The hand-crafted hollow grind provides excellent cutting performance combined with exceptional durability. The striking embossing increases durability, using them to open the knife. Ball bearings support the opening of the blade with a quick flipper (index-finger flipper) when opened acting as a stag. A powerful titanium frame lock bar secures the knife from folding, unfolded and secured the knife is as solid as an armored cash register.
Handle - made of solid titanium, tumbled machine finish and decorated with a deep engraving depicting a sunflower flower. The whole is complemented by a massive clip, of course, also made of titanium, anodized in bronze color. The screws are also stained bronze.
Included - cardboard box, nylon pouch, company patch with Velcro attachment and signed “Certificate of Creation and Authenticity”.
