Nitro-V stainless chrome-based martensitic knife steel introduced by New Jersey Steel Baron (NJSB). The manufacturer used the existing superior AEB-L knife steel and upgraded it with nitrogen and vanadium to improve edge performance and achieve high hardness and extreme corrosion resistance, especially crucial in the marine industry and humid environments. Nitro V can be used in diving knives because of its resistance to staining and corrosion. The recommended working hardness is between 58-62HRC, and it has very good impact strength compared to other steels. It is harder than stainless powder steels such as M390, Elmax and S35VN. Therefore, Nitro-V will be a good fit for knives that require good strength.

Blade - wide, Clip Point type, finished masking minor scratches with Black Stonewashed method, and then coated with a black coating. The small thickness of the blade, combined with a high, flat grind, gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. The long grain enhances the Blade's strength. Ball bearing ceramic supports the smooth operation of the blade's opening mechanism, which can be opened with a quick flipper (index-finger flipper). When opened, the flipper forms a mini-Guard to prevent the hand from slipping on the blade. On the back of the upper jimping wedge, a notched thumb rest. The entire blade is locked with a solid button lock. A spring is mounted under the lock button, providing enough resistance to avoid accidental opening.

Black Stonewashed – a finishing method that combines two techniques. First, the blade is coated with a non-reflective black layer (Dark Coating), followed by a Stonewashed after the black coating is applied, the blade is subjected to a process of  “stone bath”, which makes minor scratches created during use less visible. The end result is a unique aged look with a matte dark finish that is both stylish and practical. 

Handle - flat scales made of G10 composite, a virtually indestructible plastic, insensitive to weather conditions, resistant to chemicals and mechanical damage. The chamfered edges of the covers eliminate sharp edges and the rough textured and textured surface enhances comfort and sure grip. The sturdy G10 backspacer provides the desired rigidity and strength of construction. The simple, secure design provides confidence for years of use. The pivot axis is adorned with a stylized Civivi brand logo. A two-position, right/left deep carry clip allows you to carry the knife discreetly in your pocket in tip-up (blade tip up) position. The protruding portion of the backspacer forms a glass breaker, and includes a hole for threading a safety cable or decorative pendant.

Case - the knife is packaged in a zippered soft nylon case with the brand's logo. It is used for safe storage and transportation of the folder.
