Stretch 2 XL Lightweight Blue FRN, Satin is an improved version of the popular folder with excellent ergonomics and superior cutting qualities. Designed to meet the demands of the field, fulfilling the function of a versatile survival or hunting knife valued for its size, lightweight carry and ease of use. For these users, Spyderco has introduced a lightweight version of the Stretch 2 XL with a K390 steel blade and injection-molded facings of lightweight and durable FRN composite in an elite blue color reserved for knives with a K390 Microclean® steel blade. Design by Sal Glesser, founder of Spyderco.

K390 Microclean® - the highest quality modern tool steel. Produced using powder metallurgy technology with extremely high corrosion and abrasion resistance. High-chromium steel with a chromium (Cr) content of 20.0% and an admixture of vanadium (V) of 4.0%. Hardened to 59-61 HRC. The steel has been subjected to vacuum and cryogenic treatments and double tempering. Manufactured in Austrian steelworks Böhler-Uddeholm.

Blade - with Clip Point profile. Plain blade with a Full Flat Grind for perfect geometry and durability, finished with an elegant satin finish. The jimping (crosshatching) on the spine of the blade positions the thumb, provides solid support and facilitates the operation of the folder. The round SpyderHole (Spyderco patent) allows the user to open the knife with one hand using the thumb. Back-Lock blade lock with additional Boye Detent to prevent accidental release of the lock when the knife is gripped firmly.

Handle - in an elite blue color. The non-slip, bi-directionally textured cover and spine jimping reinforce the grip, even with wet hands. Made of FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon) plastic. Metal hourglass clip with 4-way clip positions. Hole (lanyard hole) in the back of the handle.
