Damasteel® Thor™ - Swedish Damascus steel produced by powder metallurgy from two durable knife steel alloys with different draws RWL34™ and PMC27™. Both are variations of martensitic stainless steel with a minimum chromium content of 13%. Each alloy provides a good combination of corrosion resistance and hardenability. This combination of properties is the reason for its suitability as a knife material. Some examples of other applications are flat cutlery, jewelry and other products where corrosion resistance and hardness are important.
Blade - wide, modified Clip Point type, finished with acid etching to bring out unique damascus patterns. The expansive belly extends the length of the cutting edge relative to the length of the blade converging toward the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The thickness of the blade provides high strength while the high, flat grind gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ball bearing ceramic supports the opening of the blade with a index-finger flipper, which also acts as a guard when open. We can also open the knife with the help of a hole in the wedge (Thumb Hole). The whole is locked with a proven and popular frame lock with a steel inlay to prevent wiping of the lock face.
Handle - made of polished titanium 6AI4V heat stained in Tiger Stripes pattern, machined on CNC milling machines. The titanium backspacer to which the grips are attached guarantees the rigidity and strength of the entire structure. The simplicity and solidity of the construction give confidence in many years of use. A series of satin-finished holes were made on both sides, which not only reduce the weight of the knife, but at the same time add visual lightness. The two-position clip (right/left), made of titanium, allows the knife to be carried in tip-up position. The pivot axis is made of titanium and decorated with a Damasteel rim (pivot collar cap). In the upper part of the backspacer lanyard hole, a hole for a safety or decorative cord.
