Shaman Cobalt Blue G10, Satin is a full-size EDC folder that unmatchedly combines elegance with functionality. Its robust construction is based on a precision-engineered CPM SPY27 steel blade. Developed specifically for Spyderco's premium knives, it features exceptional wear resistance and high cutting edge stability. Handle made of G10 composite in an exclusive shade of Cobalt Blue, characteristic only for Spyderco models with CPM SPY27 steel. This material provides excellent grip, even in harsh conditions. The texture of the covers has been refined so that the Handle sits securely in the hand, increasing precision and safety in use. The design by Sal Glesser, founder of the Spyderco brand, impresses with its harmony of form and ergonomics. The distinctive opening in the Blade allows the knife to be opened quickly and intuitively with one hand. The Compression Lock increases safety during use by eliminating the risk of accidental blade closure.

Spyderco has long been considered a leader in the use of high-performance steels for knives. After years of using the best materials that leading steelmakers could provide, the company decided to create its own alloy. In collaboration with Crucible® Industries, it developed its own CPM SPY27 stainless steel, where SPY refers to Spyderco and 27 is the atomic number of cobalt (Co).

CPM SPY27 - a proprietary blend of alloys, including vanadium, molybdenum, niobium, nitrogen and cobalt. The high-alloy stainless steel contains 1.4% carbon and a 1% admixture of niobium (Nb), one of the best carbides, which contributes to the steel's wear resistance. Thanks to its properties, the steel holds sharpness for a very long time and guarantees aggressive cuts for a long time. It is easy to sharpen, corrosion resistant and contains a high admixture of 14% chromium. It provides good strength and cutting edge retention, as well as a fine-grained structure. Produced by US Crucible Industries using the particle metallurgy / Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) method. The CPM process creates a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods.

Compression-Lock - Spyderco 's (made in USA) patented blade locking mechanism. Extremely durable, provides extreme strength and ease of use.

Blade - smooth Plain blade brought out with a Flat Grind. Enlarged 14 mm round SpyderHole cutout (Spyderco patent) for ambidextrous thumb opening. The fine-tuned, precision-machined Compression Lock Blade locking mechanism guarantees extremely smooth operation. The notched thumb rest (upper jimping) on the back of the blade and the Finger Choil (an undercut for the index finger between the Handle and the cutting edge) make it easier to control the knife.

Handle - profiled, covered with non-slip textured grips in Cobalt Blue, attributed to the Blade with SPY27, provides a comfortable and secure grip. Made of durable, heat- and cold-resistant, chemical-resistant G10 composite. The grips are attached to a sturdy spacer (so-called backspacer / handle grips linkage), which ensures the strength of the construction. The whole thing was fixed with torx screws for easy twisting and unfolding of the folder. Polished steel metal clip with 4-way clip positions (up/down, right/left). Enlarged cord hole in the back.
