14C28N - martensitic stainless chromium steel is the latest development in the range of knife steels produced by the Swedish steelworks Sandvik. The optimized chemical composition with a unique combination ensures the highest quality, excellent edge performance, high hardness and corrosion resistance. By reducing the carbon content to 0.62% (C) and increasing the chromium content to 14.0% (Cr), as well as adding nitrogen to 0.11% (N), the corrosion resistance has been significantly increased. Considered an improved version of 13C26. Unbeatable in the price/quality category!

Vacuum & Cryogenic - 14C28N steel undergoes a specialized heat treatment process involving two key stages. Vacuum Heat Treatment - the steel is hardened in a vacuum environment, which minimizes oxidation and ensures more uniform metal properties. This process increases the strength and structural integrity of the steel. Cryogenic Treatment After heating, the steel is rapidly cooled to extremely low temperatures, often below -100°C (-148°F). This transformation changes the residual austenite into martensite, significantly increasing the hardness, wear resistance and overall durability. Thanks to these advanced processes, 14C28N steel ensures exceptional performance, offering both razor-sharp edge retention and extraordinary blade durability.

Blade - wide, Wharncliffe type, finished with a stonewashed method to mask small scratches caused during use. The straight cutting edge converges towards the tip of the blade. The thickness of the blade in combination with the flat ground edge geometry results in an extremely efficient cutting performance. Ceramic ball bearings ensure a smooth and quiet mechanism and support the blade opening via a hole in the handle. Upper jimping on the back of the blade. Locking mechanism is a robust Frame Lock with a steel inlay to prevent the lock face from wearing off.

Handle - milled titanium 6AL4V, beveled edges of the covers eliminate sharp edges. The characteristic texture of the handle imitating the surface of a fragmentation grenade (Frag Pattern), in addition to its visual qualities, prevents the knife from slipping in the hand during use. The whole is screwed to a solid backspacer, also made of titanium. Pivot cap made of titanium in a contrasting color. Forefinger groove for a secure grip.
