14C28N - martensitic stainless chromium steel is the latest development in the range of knife steels produced by the Swedish steelworks Sandvik. The optimized chemical composition with a unique combination ensures the highest quality, excellent edge performance, high hardness and corrosion resistance. Vacuum & Cryogenic - 14C28N steel undergoes a specialized heat treatment process involving two key stages. Vacuum Heat Treatment - the steel is hardened in a vacuum environment, which minimizes oxidation and ensures more uniform metal properties. This process increases the strength and structural integrity of the steel. Cryogenic Treatment After heating, the steel is rapidly cooled to extremely low temperatures, often below -100°C (-148°F). This transformation changes the residual austenite into martensite, significantly increasing the hardness, wear resistance and overall durability. Thanks to these advanced processes, 14C28N steel ensures exceptional performance, offering both razor-sharp edge retention and extraordinary blade durability.
Blade - Clip Point with Beadblasted finish to hide fine scratches caused during use. The long cutting edge with a clearly marked fuller converges towards the sharp tip of the blade. The thickness of the blade ensures high durability, while the flat grind provides excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Handle - G10 composite grips, a mechanically extremely durable material that is practically completely resistant to weather conditions and chemicals, textured for improved grip. The contoured shape ensures a comfortable, secure grip even with wet hands. The series of holes in the handle relieves the weight of the knife and improves its balance. The forefinger groove at the front improves grip, while creating a guard to prevent the hand from slipping onto the blade. Hole for a decorative or safety cord.
