Nitro-V a new chrome-based martensitic stainless knife steel introduced by New Jersey Steel Baron (NJSB). The manufacturer used the existing superior AEB-L knife steel and upgraded it with nitrogen and vanadium to improve edge performance and achieve high hardness and extreme corrosion resistance, especially crucial in the marine industry and humid environments. Nitro V can be used in diving knives because of its resistance to staining and corrosion. The recommended working hardness is in the 58-62HRC range, and it has very good impact strength compared to other steels. It is harder than stainless powder steels such as M390, Elmax and S35VN. Therefore, Nitro-V will be well suited for knives that require good toughness.
Blade - Wharncliffe type finished with Black Stonewashed masking minor scratches. The slender blade with a long cutting edge converges towards the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The slim thickness of the blade, combined with a high, flat grind, gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ceramic ball bearings support the smooth opening of the blade, which can be opened with a front flipper. As a result, it can be easily used by right- and left-handed users. To maintain full control of the blade, there is an upper jimping, notched thumb rest on the back of the blade. The whole thing is locked with a solid Nested Liner Lock.
Handle - purple G10 (pressure-pressed fiberglass with synthetic resin) liners, which were screwed to steel liners. Contouring of the liners eliminates sharp edges for comfort and sure grip. The so-called open-backed design without the typical backspacer, fastened together with steel spacer sleeves for easy cleaning. The simple, secure design gives you the confidence of years of use. The deep-carry, two-position (right/left) clip allows you to carry the knife in tip-up position (tip up).
